Workpapers that don't start as spreadsheets.
EvoEquity is built with a Canadian auditor in mind: standards-as-data with explicit citations to ASPE 3870 (not just ASC 718 retrofitted), content-addressed bundles that reproduce on demand, three-way reconciliation against payroll and GL, and an event chain you can sample with confidence.
Standards-as-data, ASPE-first
— every output cites authority (e.g., ASPE 3870.40, IFRS 2.27, ASC 718-20-35-3) and is re-runnable from versioned YAML against the same event stream.
ASC 718 / IFRS 2 / ASPE 3870 calculations require manual recomputation — usually from a US platform that emits ASC 718 first and translates the rest.
Three-way reconciliation as a byproduct
— equity events, payroll T4 box 38 / 39 / 41, and GL stock-comp expense reconcile from one canonical event stream, by period.
Cut-off testing requires you to manually trace pay-period boundaries against exercise dates.
Tenant isolation enforced in the database
— controls are testable, not assertions. Sample a record, and the access log returns who saw what, when, with what justification.
Access controls are stated in policy but invisible in the data — every test is by interview.
Every interim period reproduces, to the byte
— content-addressed bundles regenerate identically months later. If something changed, the diff is small and explicit.
Backdating concerns require recomputing prior periods from scratch.
One sample, full evidence trail
— pull a single grant or transaction and follow the chain end-to-end: the signed proposal, the consent, the share register entry, the payroll line, the journal entry.
Sampling involves pulling separate records from share register, equity platform, and payroll.
Sample fewer, verify more, sign your name with confidence — using evidence generated as a byproduct of operations and computed against the standard your Canadian private-company client actually files under.
Built in Canada
Designed in Canada, for Canadian rules. CRA, Revenu Québec, OSC, AMF, and provincial corporate law all native — not retrofitted from US output.
Equity that follows the law
CCPC s.7(1.1) deferral, 110(1)(d) deduction, the $200K non-qualified cap, Quebec 725.2 / 725.3 — all surfaced where they apply, with the underlying section cited.
Your data stays here
Personal data resident in Canada. Law 25 disclosure and consent flows built into acceptance. No cross-border production orders to recover your own information.
PayEvo on the line
EvoEquity is operated by PayEvo — a Canadian payroll company since 2008, FINTRAC-registered, and reachable by phone. Real humans, real Canadian time zones.
